Eating Disorders and Psychosis: Overlaps and Differences – Free Virtual Workshop
Join us virtually over zoom on January 20th for a FREE* workshop on Eating Disorders and Psychosis. This is a more intermediate/advanced training for professionals.
*1.5 CEU’s for LICSW and LMHC available for $15
The many varied forms of disordered eating – from severe anorexia, to ARFID, to fad diets –
dramatically impact the nutrients absorbed in the body. Deficiencies of nutrients so often have
a causal effect on thinking, perception, processing and more. For anyone working with
individuals who exhibit disordered eating, food insecurity, or nutritional deprivation,
understanding the impact is essential for planning treatment.
Gain a basic understanding of nutrients that impact cognitive and mental health –
especially in consideration of nutrients missing due to disordered eating (including anorexia and ARFID).
Understand the presentation of psychosis as it appears in both eating disorders and other diagnostic categories.
Understand the differences between psychoses seen through eating disorders and other diagnostic categories.
Followed by a Q&A with Rachel Egan (Co-Founder of Harborside Psychiatrics).
